I have received the shocking news of Jim Murphy's (AKA Guru) passing yesterday evening (3/3/12) due to a heart attack.

Our thoughts are with his children, Jesse (also a lanner), Brandon and Samantha along with his fiance Kylie-Anne Evans (AKA ice-queen) and children Billy, Dylan and Nathan at this difficult time.

Jim had been a staple of the local LAN scene, having been a notable figure since I started lanning some 15 years ago at a Lavington church. Since AWL's inception, Jim had become a part of the furniture, having attended nearly every AWL event and having touched the lives of most everyone there in some way. I will remember Jim as one of the kindest people I have ever met, who was always willing to help out or have a chat.

Jim's funeral will be held on the 9th of March, 2012 at 11:30am at John Hossack funeral home in Wilson St, Albury (opposite centrelink). All friends and family are welcome.

You were taken far too young, Jim, at the prime of your life with so much to look forward to. RIP Guru, we will all miss you terribly.

The easy way to get there, from the Water-Tower Roundabout:
Head down Beechworth Road.
Go through the first Roundabout (Brockley Street).
Go through the second Roundabout (Wilson Street).
Take the first left (Richardson Street, Racecourse).
Follow Richardson Street to its end, enter Gated Driveway with Racecourse signage.
Here you will see a bunch of cars -- We will be in the building on the Left side.

Just like Duke, AWL is back! And it didn't take us 12 years ...
